We value the trust that you place in us by sharing your personal data with us. ASICS takes your privacy seriously and is committed to handling your personal data in a way that is fair and worthy of that trust. We believe it is important to inform you about how we will use your personal data. Therefore, we encourage you to read this privacy policy carefully.

ASICS Europe B.V. is controller with regard to the processing of your personal data (hereinafter: "ASICS" or "us" or "we").

Personal data we collect

The information we collect about you if your startup is one of the projects selected (the “Projects” or individually, the “Project”) to participate in Tenkan-Ten "The Deal" by ASICS (hereinafter: "Program") or during the application process includes the following (jointly referred to as: 'personal data'):

Personal data you provide to us:

  • Your contact details - such as your name, email address and telephone number;
  • Contact details of team members - such as a link to their LinkedIn page;
  • Your start-up data - information about your start-up, such as your company structure, KPI's and your business plan;
  • Your financial data - information on the financials of your start-up such as your net revenue;
  • Your communication data - your requests, any complaints you may have any other data we receive if we communicate with you via email, online or via social media;
  • any other personal data necessary or voluntarily given by you in connection with the Program or the application process.

Personal data we automatically collect:

Purposes of the processing of your personal data

ASICS will process your personal data for the purpose of administrating the application process of the Program. We do so in order to take steps to assess yor suitability for the Program prior to entering into a collaboration agreement. ASICS will also process your personal data to perform the collaboration agreement if your startup is one of the Projects selected. We do so for the purpose of accelerating and guiding the development of the projects selected by ASICS. Personal data processed for this purpose may include all personal data as set out under "Personal data we collect".

ASICS may use your personal data on the basis of our legitimate interest for the purpose of improving our Program and better understanding the preferences of our website visitors, both on aggregated and on an individual basis. You have the right to object to this processing if you wish.

Any information referred to above in the section ‘Personal data we collect’ may be used to maintain appropriate business records, to comply with lawful requests by public authorities and to comply with applicable laws and regulations. We would do so on the basis of compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject.

Data retention

We retain your personal data for as long as required to satisfy the purpose for which they were collected and used as described in this Privacy Policy. In certain cases, legal or regulatory obligations require us to retain specific records for a set period of time.  

Social media and other websites

Our website may contain links to third party websites, for example to LinkedIn. If you follow these links, you will exit our website. While these third party websites are selected with care, ASICS cannot accept liability for the use of your personal data by these organisations. Disclosure and transfer of personal data

For the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, we may share your personal data on a need to know basis with colleagues due to their function within ASICS Corporation or with external parties which may advise us during the Program or the application process. In addition, information about you, including personal data, may be disclosed as part of any merger, sale, transfer of ASICS’s assets, acquisition, bankruptcy, or similar event.

ASICS takes all reasonably necessary steps to ensure that your personal data is shared and treated securely and in accordance with this policy and applicable legislation. This means that we entered into legally necessary contracts with recipients of your data, including Standard Contractual Clauses ("SCC's") as approved by the European Commission or equivalent means with parties outside the EEA that do not provide for an adequate level of protection. You are entitled to receive a copy of any documentation showing the suitable safeguards that have been taken by making a request via email to: [email protected]

Security

ASICS will take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data are properly secured using appropriate technical, physical, and organizational measures, so that they are protected against unauthorised or unlawful use, alteration, unauthorised access or disclosure, accidental or wrongful destruction, and loss.

We take steps to limit access to your personal data to those persons who need to have access to it for one of the purposes listed in this Privacy Policy. Furthermore, we contractually ensure that any third party processing your personal data equally provide for confidentiality and integrity of your data in a secure way.

Your rights

If you would like to request, review, correct, update, suppress, restrict or delete personal data that you have provided to us during the Program or the application process, or if you would like to request to receive an electronic copy of such personal data for purposes of transmitting it to another company, you may contact us as indicated in the Contact us section below. We will respond to your request consistent with applicable law.

In your request, please tell us what personal data you would like to have changed, whether you would like to have it suppressed from our database, or otherwise let us know what limitations you would like to put on our use of it.  For your protection, we may need to verify your identity before implementing your request. We will try to comply with your request as soon as reasonably practicable.  

Please note that we may need to retain certain personal data for recordkeeping purposes and/or to complete any transactions that you began prior to requesting a change or deletion.

In the event your personal data is processed on the basis of your consent, you can withdraw consent at any time by sending an email to [email protected], without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in your Member State of residence, if you consider that the collection and use of your personal data infringes this Privacy Policy or applicable law.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time. If a fundamental change to the nature of the use of your personal data is involved or if the change is in any other manner relevant to you, we will ensure that information is provided to you well in advance of the change actually taking effect.
